Tribal College Basketball

November 10, 2011

This past weekend I had the great fortune to document the love of basketball that exists within the hearts of many Native Americans. We covered a couple basketball tournaments at tribal colleges in rural Montana and spent some time on the Crow Agency Reservation. The NCAA Champion Magazine article has not been published yet, so we don’t want to show too much, but here is a quick preview.03 NOV 2011: Photographs of Little Big Horn College in Crow Agency, MT for NCAA Champion Magazine. ESPN THE MAGAZINE COVER

October 27, 2011

Last week I was contacted to photograph Tim Tebow during the Denver Broncos vs San Diego Chargers game for ESPN The Magazine. They were doing several stories on a variety of athletes for their Plan B Issue. The idea being that Kyle Orton was the current starter, but for how long? When would they turn to Tebow? Well, as it turned out, it happened by halftime of the game I was photographing. I went from trying to come up with interesting ways to photograph Tebow continually standing on the sidelines, to actually photographing him in action, which was a huge relief. He was named the starting QB by the Broncos the following week and all of a sudden this was a much more important story. Luckily, they deemed it important enough to make the decision to run Tebow on the cover and I was awarded with my first ESPN The Magazine cover shot as well as an inside spread of photographs.

Denver International Airport Sunrise

October 24, 2011

There’s something about sunrises for me. The quiet and stillness of the morning hours can be magical in a world of hurry up and go. Last week my co-worker Jamie Schwaberow and myself went out to make photographs for Denver International Airport specifically targeting the sunrise.

Heart Breaker for the Buckeyes

October 14, 2011

After leading for most of the game, the Ohio State Buckeyes let the Nebraska Cornhuskers make their greatest comeback in history to win 34-27. Here are a couple images from the game.

Rockies

August 26, 2011

It has been awhile since we’ve posted images from Coors Field. Often our images can be seen all over town in street banners, billboards, bus signs and newspapers. Some of them large and some small. Some cropped and some not. This blog provides the opportunity to show work that may not have made it into the mainstream. As always, thanks for looking. In the coming weeks I plan on taking the opportunity to post a more rounded out presentation of the entire season in a more creative fashion. Stay tuned.
